Sunset Hill House Leveraging a large site and sweeping views of Puget Sound this house is open, inviting, and intimately connected to its landscape. A rain terrace to the east offers play space for children and cover for outdoor entertaining. Generous overhangs on the west protect from wind, sun and rain and frame a spectacular view of the West Point light, Bainbridge island and Puget Sound. |

Sonoma Residence; Glen Ellen, CA The rolling hills of Sonoma County offer an idyllic setting for this residence. Located just outside of Glen Ellen the project is a tripartite scheme house, guest house and pool, carefully sited among mature oak trees to make the most of the picturesque views of hillside vineyards in the distance. |

West + East House; Seattle WA The house is open and airy to the westerly views, cozy and enclosed at the eastern garden. Large roof terrace and generous overhangs offer shelter for enjoying long summer sunsets. |

Denny Blaine Residence This new home explored the clients dual interest in a home that was part of an established Seattle neighborhood and had the openness and character of a New York loft. Natural fir and cedar were complemented with exposed steel structural elements and hardiboard siding. |

Hunt's Point Pool Residence This large residence explores the relationship between two landscapes: an open expanding one on the lakeside, and an inward contemplative one on the courtyard side. The gently curved metal roofs act as the unifiers, pulling together all the separate forms and uses of the house. |

Hansville Retreat This cabin sits on the border between forest and meadow. Its main purpose is to provide additional bedrooms for an existing weekend house. The square, tick-tack-toe geometry allows for a flow into the landscape in all directions. A wrap-around, covered porch and screened sleeping loft allow guests to enjoy the outdoors day and night, rain or shine. |

Meydenbauer Bay Residence This new home on Meydenbauer Bay nestles below an entry court to connect the family to the landscape and the expansive view of the lake to the west. A detached guest house accomodates a music room above, where an uninterrupted view of the lake complements an acoustically sound recording studio. |

(work in progress) Mendes Residence, Alexander Valley, CA This new home in the Alexander Valley wine country sits perched atop a hillock between the Russian River and Sausal Creek. With breathtaking views of boutique vineyards the house features expansive terraces on the east and north sides of the living room. Large openings with sliding glass doors provide easy access for entertaining and a seamless connection between the interior and exterior. |

(work in progress) Waterfront Residence, Medina, WA A new driveway takes you below a cantilevered living room into the heart of this new waterfront home. On the south side of the structure an intimate westerly terrace and an easterly deck are connected by a living room pavilion. A heavy timber roof spans to a long steel beam creating a marked contrast between the depth and thickness of the roof and the lightness of the surrounding landscape. |

Goodman Bartholomy Remodel; Seattle, WA Creating a new kitchen connected to a backyard truly oriented for entertaining was the client’s driving goal in this remodel. The Sapele wood kitchen is designed around a central island that includes a prep area and custom Madrona wood slab eating table from Urban Hardwoods. New accordion fold doors opened the eat in kitchen area out to a new ipe deck with generous stairs to the backyard. |

Pinkett Chotzen Remodel; Seattle, WA Similar to many other remodel projects we’ve undertaken this project sought to update the kitchen, reconnect the kitchen to living spaces, and create a more contemporary kitchen within a very traditional home. Additionally, the attic was converted into a master suite replete with light from new skylights and a spa-like bathroom featuring a large comfortable soaking tub. |

Detering Kauff Remodel; Seattle, WA This remodel sought to correct a few dysfunctional floor plan conditions and create an open contemporary kitchen within an historic Montlake craftsman home. The kitchen was relocated closer to an outdoor terrace and new powder room put adjacent to relocated mudroom entry area. Finishes include flush face frame cherry cabinets, granite counters and new oak floors. |

Healy Catalano Remodel; Seattle, WA A cook's kitchen, this remodel features painted flush face frame cabinetry, recycled and honed slate chalkboards as countertops and extensive deck additions. A nifty feature in this home is a custom fruit and vegetable dehydrator built in to the cabinetry which allows these enthusiastic supporters of Community Supported Agriculture to easily store the vast bounty of produce our local organic farmers produce. |

Edison Mellana Remodel; Seattle, WA This kitchen remodel set out to resize a kitchen built for a very tall family. New FSC certified fir cabinetry and honed black granite counters complement salvaged oak floors intended to tie in to the home’s existing oak flooring. Green updates also included the addition of a solar water pre-heat for the home’s hot water system. |

Evergreen Residence The renovation of this Denny Blaine neighborhood home took advantage of the sweeping views to the east, and a quiet garden to the west. A master suite on the east side of the house was created by converting a bedroom into a large dressing/bathroom. The renovation opened the kitchen/family room to the garden at the west. |
